Safeguarding

We believe every person has value and dignity, which comes directly from the creation of male and female in God’s own image and likeness. Showing value and dignity involves a duty to protect each other from harm. This is the responsibility of everyone at The Light Church. In accordance with the Church of England Safeguarding Policy our church is committed to:

  • Promoting a safer environment and culture.

  • Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults within the church.

  • Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation.

  • Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons.

  • Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons.

  • Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.

If you think a child or adult is at immediate risk of harm or a crime has been committed, you should call 999.

If you have any concerns around the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult, please contact one of our Church Safeguarding Officers Louise Powell or Ruth Alderton. They can be contacted via safeguarding@light-church.co.uk.

Alternatively you could speak to the Lead Minister Tom Morgan.
